Thanks for stopping by my page.
I am a freelance drummer and percussionist who lives in California.
This is where I share my experience with drumming and everything under the sun about drums.
If you are like me, and love drumming, then you can find a lot of information here about different drumming styles, techniques and even some recommendations on good kits for both your professional and home use.
How it all started?
My interest in drumming started at the age of 14 when I was asked to play in my school marching band. As fate would have it, the person who was supposed to play backed out towards the end of the practice period and they were badly in need of a substitute. I only played the cymbals but playing with the rest of the band got me interested and before I knew it I was attending drumming classes.
All that noise!
Living in an apartment has its own advantages, but when it came to playing my drums, it was more of a hindrance as my parents had to constantly deal with complaining neighbors.
Torn between my love for drums and the need to be able to practice on a regular basis without creating a racket, I had to find a way out. But fate had it all planned out and I didn’t have to do anything.
At the same time that I was playing acoustic drums, I also got introduced to electronic drum kits by a very good drummer friend. Just like everyone, I immediately rejected the possibility of an electronic equipment being able to match the qualities of an acoustic drum kit. The realistic and natural feeling is something that I knew can never be matched.
But I realized that I was wrong as I played on my first electronic kit at least a good 20 years ago. Though they were not as good as the kits of today, I was quite impressed with their ability to reproduce a good amount of natural playing with the added advantage of allowing for private playing with headphones. I had found my new love. Since then, I have been playing equally on various acoustic and electronic drum kits.
I also feel obliged to share with others who like me might initially think that electronic drum kits are inferior.

- Record at home
- Quickly set-up and break down in not time
My other interests
Being a freelancer, gives me the opportunity to work with different kinds of drum kits. This eventually led me to writing product reviews that any new drummer or even a professional who wants to buy a new drum kit will find to be useful.
If you would like me to review a new or an existing product in the market, please do let me know and will be glad to oblige. In case you have any questions that you would like to ask me, feel free to write to me on my email Id and I would be delighted to be of use.
Until then, keep rocking and keep on drumming because you only live once!
Love Bob M.
